Mitral Valve Prolapse

Mitral Valve Prolapse

There are no distinct ECG findings in patients with mitral valve prolapse. Negative asymmetric T waves appear in leads III, aVF, and V6 in 10% of cases. This morphology is seen in other conditions, so it is not particularly useful for diagnosis. If the patient has developed inferolateral ischemia, the T waves will be symmetrical with a negative deflection.
