The coupling interval is the distance between the preceding normal QRS complex and the appearance of the PVC. There is only a modest difference in the coupling interval in PVCs; it is approximately 0.06 seconds. 

Varying coupling intervals are not uncommon. It is seen in patients with polytopic PVCs and in those with ventricular parasystole and monomorphic PVCs.
