Acute Right Atrial Overload

The primary cause of acute right atrial overload is acute pulmonary embolism. Only minor or negligible alterations in the P wave are seen in acute right atrial overload. The only evidence for it may be a peaked P wave in leads V₁ and V₂. This classical finding is very rare.
