After completing this section, the Neonatal Resuscitation provider will be able to:
- Identify equipment for positive pressure ventilation: self-inflating bag, flow-inflating bag, and T-piece resuscitator.
- Determine when to perform positive pressure ventilation.
- Administer positive pressure ventilation.
- Assess the effectiveness of positive pressure ventilation.
- Perform the corrective ventilation steps if positive pressure ventilation is ineffective.
- Administer continuous positive airway pressure.
- Identify when to place an orogastric tube.
