Before the advancement of radiologic imaging modalities, the diagnosis of congenital heart disease (CHD) relied on physical examination, thoracic X-rays, and the ECG. 

Most patients diagnosed with CHD present with RBBB following surgical correction. This occurs as an iatrogenic consequence of an incision made over the right ventricle during surgery, affecting conduction in the right bundle branches.
