The Roles of a Team

In ACLS, it is a goal that each ACLS student practices performing the different roles and takes the opportunity to become a leader in a simulated high-performance team. The team members should only perform those roles for which they are highly skilled. It is advised that members never work beyond their capabilities.

There are six suggested roles for a conventional resuscitation team. The roles are classified into compressor, defibrillator, airway, medications, timer, and team leader.
