Ventricular Rhythms – Unifocal Versus Multifocal

Unifocal PVCs occur from one irritable focus in the ventricles and present in a uniform configuration throughout the strip.

When PVCs appear in a wide variety of configurations (i.e., different sizes, shapes, and deflections), then several irritable ventricular foci are initiating complexes. Multifocal PVCs are more serious because they represent a more irritable myocardium.
