PACs are characterized by:

  • Regularity: PAC interrupts the underlying rhythm
  • Rate: Depends on the rate of the underlying rhythm
  • P Wave: P wave preceding the PAC will be upright but may have variable morphology
  • PR Interval: Between 0.12 and 0.20 seconds for underlying rhythm and PRI for PAC will be different
  • QRS Complex: < 0.12 seconds
