- This video explains the next steps after ROSC is achieved.
- First, reduce the oxygen flow.
- Titration should be between 92-98%.
- Make sure you are not hyperventilating the patient.
- Sedate the patient if needed to preserve the airway.
- Assess lung sounds.
- Give fluids if needed, but don’t give fluids if the patient is experiencing pulmonary edema.
- Get a reading with a 12-lead ECG.
- Check the patient’s neuro status and whether they can follow commands. If they can’t follow commands, begin targeted temperature management.
