Experience

Lisa earned her Bachelor of Arts at the College of William and Mary and a Master of Arts at the University of Kentucky. She then transitioned from the liberal arts to healthcare, graduating from the Respiratory Therapy program at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California.

After graduation, Lisa worked at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital as a staff respiratory therapist. She excelled in all areas of the hospital, including the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units. To further her experience, Lisa also participated in ground and air transports for critically ill neonates and pediatric patients.

During her time at Packard, Lisa became a Neonatal Resuscitation instructor. She also taught courses in Cardiopulmonary Anatomy, ECG interpretation, and Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care at Foothill College as an adjunct instructor. After several years as a staff therapist, she was promoted to shift supervisor at Packard.

In 2005, Lisa relocated to Lexington, Kentucky. She began working as a staff therapist at Kentucky Children’s Hospital at the University of Kentucky. She continued to teach remotely for Foothill College and other institutions at this time as well.

In 2010, Lisa transitioned to a role as supervisor of Respiratory Therapy at Kentucky Children’s Hospital. During her time in this role, she became a PALS and BLS instructor and regularly developed and delivered education to respiratory therapists, nurses, physicians, and advanced practice providers.

She completed a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration at Western Kentucky University in 2016.

In 2018, Lisa became a manager for all Respiratory Therapy at the University of Kentucky, retaining involvement in the children’s hospital and expanding her role into the adult units.
