Experience

Jennifer Bunn, RN, began her nursing career in Brooks, Alberta in 1991 and shortly after moved to Texas, where she worked in a small rural facility for almost four years. While in Texas, she certified for ACLS for the first time. She loved the camaraderie the course provided, allowing her to learn alongside other nurses, physicians, and paramedics in a supportive setting.

Upon returning to Canada in 1997, she returned to rural medicine, settling in Bow Island, Alberta. She loved the challenge of working with patients of all ages and particularly enjoyed the emergency room environment.

Working in rural medicine required constant education, so valid Neonatal Resuscitation, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) were necessary. Jennifer also worked in the ICU in the nearby city of Medicine Hat to round out her education, learning, and clinical experience. During these years, she had the honor of instructing many LPN and RN students. She also took pride in teaching CPR to her colleagues.

In 2012 Jennifer moved with her family to Strathmore, Alberta, and again chose rural medicine. She loves caring for people from the beginning of their lives until the end. The learning never stops in rural nursing, and Jennifer is always prepared to treat emergencies impacting all ages, including infants to the elderly.
