Experience

Before joining the nursing faculty at the University of Tennessee at Martin as an Instructor of Critical Care in 2017, Carmen Corder, DNP, CCRN, served as Associate Professor of Nursing and Course Coordinator for Pathophysiology at Jackson State Community College.

In 2019, she began a new role at the University of Tennessee at Martin as the RN to BSN Coordinator, where she coordinates all activities for the university’s 100% online RN to BSN program.

An established innovator in the field of nursing, in 2018, Dr. Corder conducted a research study with a group of critical care nurses examining the effects of mindfulness techniques with emotional intelligence, burnout score, and turnover rates for nurses.

She is passionate about teaching and works closely with the University of Tennessee at Martin nursing faculty to develop and implement the program’s first-ever pathophysiology course in the fall of 2019.
