Simulation is an essential part of BLS training because it prepares healthcare professionals and first responders to act quickly during cardiac arrest, respiratory emergencies, and choking. BLS megacode scenarios allow learners to apply Basic Life Support steps in realistic situations instead of simply memorizing them. This practice reduces hesitation, improves decision-making, and builds confidence for BLS certification and real-world emergencies.
Repeated BLS practice also strengthens procedural memory. Learners rehearse recognizing cardiac arrest, activating the emergency response system, starting high-quality CPR, providing effective breaths, and using an automated external defibrillator (AED).
