- To prepare push dose epinephrine, clinicians need cardiac epinephrine 1:10,000, a 10 CC saline flush, a needle, and a new label.
- The working concentration of a drug is the amount of the drug in 1 ml of fluid.
- Cardiac epinephrine’s working concentration is 0.1 mg per CC, and push dose epinephrine’s working concentration is 100 mcg per CC (e.g. how many mcg per vial).
- To administer 10 mcg per CC of fluid, remove 1 CC from a 0.9 flush syringe and then draw up 1 CC from the epinephrine vial (10 mcg).
