“The character of a nurse is as important as the knowledge she possesses.”
– Amanda Loescher, BSN, RN
Amanda obtained her certification as a medical assistant shortly after high school. Soon after, she decided to advance in health care by becoming a Registered Nurse. After graduating from Edgewood College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Amanda began her nursing career by serving the veteran population in the medical surgical unit at the VA Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
From there, she took her caring services on the road via travel nursing. Amanda traveled all over the country and augmented her skill set. She obtained experience in oncology and emergency nursing and worked as a charge nurse on a busy post-surgical unit in Seattle. She also learned other specialties, such as orthopedics, naturopathic medicine, IV therapy, neurology, and cardiology.
In 2019 she started a family and decided to return to Madison to plant roots. There she began a job as a nurse circulator in the operating room. She holds a chair on the unit-based council and is studying to obtain certification in perioperative nursing.
As a hardworking, compassionate, and versatile Registered Nurse, Amanda is always looking to learn new skills and teach her existing skills to peers whenever possible.
