Experience
Prior to beginning his career as a nuclear medicine physician, Dominic Velasco, MD, DPSBNM, started as an emergency room physician associate in 2007. He then began nuclear medicine residency training in 2009 and was awarded as a diplomate in 2012. In 2013, Dr. Velasco was appointed as a consultant in nuclear medicine at Cardinal Santos Medical Center, one of Manila’s healthcare centers of excellence.
In 2014, Dr. Velasco was appointed as the Chief of Clinics for the Antipolo City Health System (ACHS), a primary government hospital, and was later promoted to Chief of Hospitals in 2015. During this time, he also completed his Master of Business Administration at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business. Dr. Velasco has helped develop two newly constructed government hospitals in Antipolo City, Rizal, Philippines, and Cabading, Antipolo City.
After earning his master’s degree, Dr. Velasco found new opportunities in developing the Germanium/Gallium-68 radio pharmacy at Cardinal Santos Medical Center’s PET-CT Department for Prostate Cancer Imaging, which was implemented in 2019. He was also honored with the opportunity to be named the Training Officer of Residents at the same institution.
Dr. Velasco has also provided medical content consultations since 2014 to various healthcare institutions both locally and internationally. He has authored publications in nuclear medicine and other specialties.
