5 lead ECG
ECG Lead polarity is dependent on monitor lead selection.
ECG lead placement mnemonic: smoke over fire, white to the right.
The white and black electrodes are placed below the clavicle and are referred to as the right arm and left arm electrodes.
The brown electrode is placed in the 4th intercostal space just to the right of the sternum.
The red and green electrodes are placed on the patient's side below the most inferior rib and are referred to as the right and left leg electrodes.
