Bundle Branch Block Page 7

  • Bundle branch blocks are caused by damage to the conduction tissue(a).
  • Bundle branch blocks cause ventricular depolarization to occur from cell to cell, a slow process, resulting in a wide QRS.
  • A QRS with a width greater than 0.10 sec is called a Bundle Branch Block.

Incomplete - Complete BBB Page 8

  • Complete and Incomplete Bundle Branch Blocks are defined by the QRS width.
  • An incomplete Bundle Branch Block is generally caused by a slowing of conduction in one of the bundles and has a QRS width of 0.11 sec to 0.12 sec.
  • A Complete Bundle Branch Block is generally caused by a blockage in one of the bundle branches and has a QRS width greater than 0.12sec.
